Cusco and the Sacred Valley were the caput mundi of the Inca Empire, which was extending from Colombia, until Chile. A very evolved civilization with the Inca as a chief and a deep knowledge of the earth, hydraulic engineering, anti-earthquake building engineering, agronomy knowledge.

The Inca flourished as an Empire in peace with their mitimaes, who were diplomats travelling all the Empire to teach the most updated agricultural knowledge, the ancient languages as quechua and the capital administrative system with the quipus.

With the Spanish invasion, many buildings were destroyed, the gold which was covering them was melt and brought in Spain, but still the splendor of the Inca civilization is evident, because Inca ancient buildings survived the earthquakes, whereas the Spanish ones didn’t. The quechua language was transmitted generation by generation and Machu Picchu, Tipon, Moray, Pisac,  Ollataytambo still are testimonies of the amazing Inca engineering knowledge. Their water system is still fully functioning, therefore the terraces are still green and fertile even today.
