LEONARDO DA VINCI WAS A SCIENTIST AND AN ARTIST AHEAD OF HIS TIME.

Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) was born in Vinci, Italy, his father arranged for him to enter Andrea del Verrocchio’s workshop. His young genius overcame his old teacher even before completing his apprenticeship.The athmospheric phenomena is described in 1508 Leonardo’s Treatise on Painting. His most detailed anatomical studies (1508-1510) are in Windsor Castle, England.

1482 he moved to Milan, where he worked as an artist and engineer for Sforza Ludovico. The Virgin of the Rocks two versions are of this period. His deep studies of the proportion of human bod, anatomy and physiology were dismissed by his contemporaries, but since the 19th century, with the beginning of empirical science, were acknowledged.

Leonardo’ s anthropometry provided art with a “scientific” grounding, he was a scientist and an artist.

The Last Supper was executed between 1495 and 1497 in the Monastery of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, Leonardo followed the rules of centralized perspective, the Christ’s disciples gestures were longly admired.

Mona Lisa, Francesco del Giocondo’s wife, is his famous work for the atmospheric density and perspective.
